I would like to thank the Indiana State Police Alliance for the Indiana Ice tickets last week.  My family had a wonderful time, and because of these tickets my daughter wants to go back to watch another hockey game for her birthday.  So in April my wife and I will be bringing a carload of teenage girls to the game.

Thank you again.  We really appreciate it.

Shawn Cosgrove

On October 15th Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter honored the survivors of Indiana State Troopers killed in the line of duty. Superintendent Carter welcomed the guest to the Indiana War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis. Colonel Mark French and other members of the ISP staff accompanied the superintendent to the ceremony and luncheon.

Approximately 30 family members and close friends of those Troopers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice were in attendance. Superintendent Carter intends to make this an annual event to honor those who have lost a family member in the line of duty. The Indiana State Police Alliance was honored and privileged to provide the meal for this event.

Members of the Alliance,

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the amazing support provided to those of us involved in the Camm trial. After a long day it was wonderful to go "home" and not worry about something to eat or drink. The cabinets were always stocked, giving us the opportunity to relax and refocus before diving into the next day.

Please know that I am extremely grateful for everything.

Thank you, Mitze Templeton 8066

We want to thank you for making the trip to Charlestown, West Virginia to honor our son, Cpl. Marshall Bailey.  We have gained another family, the law enforcement men and women of our great state and country.

We have always had a great deal of respect for our West Virginia State Troopers and others in the law enforecment community, but now that respect is ten-fold.  We plan to work with our county and state officers in curtailing the drug problem that continues to plague our communities.

Your dedication is deeply appreciated.

The Indiana State Police Laboratory Division would like to thank the ISP Alliance for your generosity in covering the cost of the Laboratory's 75th Anniversary pamphlets.  To reproduce 5,000 colored copies was a costly project and more than what the laboratory could absorb.  So it was very much appreciated when the ISP Alliance offered to pay for the project.

The pamphlets have been delivered to the Indianapolis Regional Laboratory.  It is our intent to hand these out during the Indiana State Fair for recruitment purposes.  Also if any remain after the fair they will be distributed to the other regional laboratories for their use.

Thank you again for your assistance in helping to promote the 75th Anniversary of the Indiana State Police Laboratory Division.

December 22, 2010

Dear Cops for Kids,

On behalf of the family who will benefit from your generous gift, let me say thank you! It is an honor to partner with you on this presentation.

Like many families in this down economy, the family chosen to receive this donation has had many set-backs this year.  The sixteen year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia at the beginning of the year.  The father has missed several weeks of work due to infections that would not heal.  He is currently facing the removal of some toes due to complications from the infection and diabetes.  Other family members are also suffereing from physical ailments.  As you can see their needs were exta-ordinary.

In an effort to help the family financially, the mom had a perpetual garage sale this summer, running every weekend to help the family make ends meet.

They never complain and have never really asked for assistance.  It is a pleasure to offer this help to them at this time!

Thank you for all you do to help families throughout the year.

Rev. Robert E Davis, Jr.

First Baptist Church

Ms. Butler,

As I close out 2010, I still have some things that I meant to do and one of them was to tell you and “Cops for Kids” thank you.  Thank you so much for your continued commitment to our Central Indiana children during our annual “Coats for Kids” campaign.  Your organization is an important part of the success of this long term campaign.  Kids love to get your hats to help keep them warm in the winter.

I know that in tougher economic times, it takes an extra effort to continue these gifts of service.  We are appreciative of the State Police Alliance for all of the years that you have been with us and we don’t want you to think that we, or Indiana children, take it for granted.

Thank you all for your compassion and kindness.  May you and your families have a blessed New Year.

Take care,

Greg Oeth and Alliance Board Members,

My family and I would like to express our sincere appreciation for all of the support you provided during our recent loss.  Words cannot explain how much it means to me that you not only took the time and money to send food to our friend and family wake, but going so far above and beyond by transporting it to us during this stressful time.

I would also like to express a special thanks to Greg Oeth, Frank Smith and other troopers who escorted the funeral procession, stood honor guard and assisted with traffic direction.

As always, the Indiana State Police Alliance continues to support our members not only in day to day business, but also in the times that we need it the most.

Thank you so much for you caring support,

Sherri Heichelbech

Thank you for your kind donation. This fund has been set up to assist the family of Trooper Mark D. Barrett.

This fund allows us to aid our members as well as other law enforcement officers and their families through times of personal tragedy or family crisis when there is no place for them to turn. We are proactive in supporting law enforcement and the citizens whom we serve. This fund boosts our members' efforts to raise money for children in need and other special situations.

The Barrett Family and the VSPA truly appreciates you for your thoughtful generosity. An acknowledgement of your contribution has been forwarded to the family.

During our 39th Swiss Wine Festival (one of Indiana's Top 10 Festivals) held this August 27-29, we will be holding our Second Annual "Media Celebrity Grape Stomp for Charity". The event will feature on-air celebrities from television and radio, newspaper columnists, professional bloggers and freelance writers going toe-to-toe in grape barrels competing to "out stomp" their competition. The top three stompers hope to walk away with a check to their favorite charity - first place is $1000, second is $500 with third at $250. Celebrities from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky will be competing this year.

The media event will take place on Saturday August 28, 2010 at noon at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park in Vevay, IN at the official grape stomping stage.

I am excited to inform you that Brad Underwood of WXIX Fox 19 in Cincinnati has selected your organization as his charity should he be one of the Top Three winning Media Celebrity Grape Stompers.

Dear Indiana State Police Alliance,
I just wanted to say "Thank You" for all the extra assistance you have given me during my 4 years of college. I graduated in May with a BS in Nursing. I am currently working at Hendricks Rgional Health and plan to take my N-Clex (RN Nursing Exam) on July 13th. It truly has helped me to get these extra funds as I have used them to help purchase all the nursing textbooks required for my courses.

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you for the retirement gifts that are greatly appreciated. It does mean a lot to be recognized. However, looking at my plaque, it's apparent I haven't been late for dinner!

Thanks again. God bless you all.

Jim Paris, 4059

Trooper Patrick Family,
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, kind letter, and the beautiful American flag you provided for the Coleman family. It was my honor to personally present the flag on your behalf to the Coleman family. Officer Tom Coleman served with the United States Marine Corp. prior to joining the California Highway Patrol, so this gift of the American flag you proivde to the family has great meaning.

I would also like to take this opportunity to pay our condolences to the loss of members from your Department. The manner in which you are honoring Trooper Patrick is commendable and I pray that we will be able to continue honoring all of our officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice equally. Unfortunately, as you know, we are not alone when it comes to losing heroes in law enforcement, and I believe that we all share in the loss when we lose an officer, regardless of the agency.

On behalf of all of the members of the California Highway Patrol and the Coleman family, please accept our heartfelt thanks.

Esmeralda L. Falat, Captain

We conducted the Jasper District Annual Memorial Service yesterday and everything went off without a hitch thanks to the hard work by a lot of people who spent days preparing for this event. The troopers looked great and the department honor guard team was a hit with the retiree's. We were able to provide a meal and share fellowship with approximately 65 active personnel (Civilian/Enforcement) and 20 retiree's. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Indiana State Police Alliance for their generous financial contribution that made providing the meal possible.

Respectfully, Don

Don L. Bolen, Lieutenant
Commander - Jasper District
District #34

Greg and Alliance Board Members,
I want to thank you for the retirement gifts. They are greatly appreciated. I also wish to thank you for all you have done for the troops over the years. I truely believe if it were not for the efforts of the Alliance, we would not have the benefits we all enjoy today. As we struggle through these extremely difficult economic times, it is important the troops and the Alliance stand together. God bless you all and keep up the great work.

Cops for Kids of Indiana, Inc.

At the 3/8/10 Sheridan Community Schools Board of School Trustees Meeting, you were mentioned during part of the Donations section of the agenda. This is the part of our Board Meeting when donations/grants are specifically mentioned. We really appreciate those who donate to benefit the students of SCS. On behalf of the school board and students of SCS, thanks for all you do to make our schools even better places to learn.

Respectfully submitted,

ISPA/Cops for Kids,

Noah's Ark Day Care Center would like to thank you for your recent donation to our organization. We were able to purchase soft climbing structures for our 2 toddler rooms. The children will really enjoy the structures and their large motor learning will be enhanced with the equipment we have been able to purchase. Through your generosity, the children here at Noah's Ark have been able to enhance their large motor experiences and expand their learning. The Noah's Ark families, children and staff are very thankful for your donation.

Thank you again,

Cops For Kids,

I just wanted to take this opportunity and extend my thanks for your financial assistance. Without the support of organizations such as yours, it would be very difficult to purchase needed equipment to help and better our softball program. Not only will our high school and middle school players benefit from the pitching machine this year, but also for many years to come. Thanks again.

Wayne and Staff,

Dear Family of Trooper Patrick,

Thank you so much for the beautiful flag. I am so inspired by his story and love not only for his country but for the state police. His story is so similar to that of my husband.
Please know that my children and I pray for your family and the safety of all state police.

Cops for Kids of Indiana,
When one thinks of the police and the service they perform on everyone's behalf, it is the work done behind the scenes by organizations such as this that is above and beyond the call of duty. For that reason and on behalf of Norfolk Southern Railway, one of the major railroads proudly serving the Hoosier State with rail transportation service, I am pleased to enclose a corporate check from the Norfolk Southern Foundation in the amount of $2000 to support ongoing efforts to reach our young people as they formulate their opinions that give their future a positive direction.

Paul A. Gilley

The Chrstmas help you provided was a great help to my family. I appreciate it so much.

Thanks you again!

Dear President Flick,
On behalf of Seymour #43 we would like to thank the Indiana State Police Alliance for their generous donation of $1000. Your gift was used to help several children this year. The majority of your donation, along with toys donated from the Marine's Toys-for-Tots program, allowed Troopers at the Post to help 16 familes/41 chidlred in our District's area. In addition two of our Officers, M/Trp. David McKalip and M/Trp./Det. Jan Graves, knew of two families in particular that needed help. Both Officers took a portion of the donation, added to it, and helped one family with two girls whose mother left them a few years ago, and another family with two boys, one of which is terminally ill with cancer.

Your donation is always greatly appreciated. I have attached a picture of the two girls who received help, as well as a thank you note from the family with the two sons who also benefited.

Thank you again for helping us to be able to reach out to those in need.
Don Gregory, Sgt/PIO #43

To the Indiana State Police Alliance and all of District #32,
My family and I would like to thank you for everything you did for us during the flood of 2008 and on through all of 2009. The following items enabled us to move back into our home, after the flood, and return to some form of an ordinary life in 2009:

District #32 helped us remove all of our personal belongings, get started removing articles and pieces of the home that were damaged and would need to be repaired or replaced, removed and replaced the roofing on the house, helped us put our personal items back in the home, and last, but in no way least, you provided us with funds, collected by donation, to help our family.

The Indiana State Police Alliance provided us with a dumpster, from one of the local trash companies, for several days. Not only did this provide us with a place to dispose of trash, articles of furniture, and other personal items that were damaged or lost in the flood, it helped us financially. It would have taken a significant amount of money to rent a dumpster of that size, for any period of time. This made it possible for us to use money that had been budgeted for trash removal, for more important things.

In closing, my family and I want to say how thankful we are to have had the Indiana State Police Alliance and District #32 come to our aid. I wish I would have had the opportunity to work with my fellow Troopers again, only under different circumstances, at a different location. All though I am unable to return to work, due to a line of duty injury, the Alliance continued to show its dedication and commitment to assist its members and the Indiana State Police, by assisting my family and my fellow Troopers during the Flood of 2008.

With our sincerest thanks,
David, Gina, and Wyatt Kuhn
